House Huisamen

House Huisamen is a modern home that makes highly effective use of its space, showcasing the stunning views that surround the property. Built on a sloped hill, the site posed initial challenges that required additional preparation before construction could begin.

A standout feature of the design is the integration of open-plan bedrooms and bathrooms within a single space. This fluid layout is subtly defined by two different flooring materials, distinguishing the sleeping and bathing areas without the need for walls.

The home features ceilings made of off-shutter concrete—exposed concrete left visible after the formwork is removed—offering a raw, textured aesthetic that aligns with the home’s minimalist design. Window openings are kept to a minimum, further enhancing the clean, understated look.
To maximize natural light and the connection to the outdoors, oversized 2.7-meter sliding doors were installed, offering expansive views and seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Perhaps the most treasured space in the house is the man-cave, which includes a private gym and a dedicated area for the owner’s prized Ducati motorcycle collection.
